‘Wich works

I recently got sandwiches during my lunch at this nearby spot. It was impromptu, especially considering that the nearby Harmons has an amazing selection of boar’s head deli meats and cheeses and offers all the things I would need to have a great sandwich anytime. Nevertheless, I tried this spot out. Here’s a slideshow of the various sandwiches we had:
We had their italian, club, and meatball sandwiches.
“Ciao’wich” (Italian sub) – Typically my favorite sandwich to order anywhere, this version was disappointing. The Prosciutto was thickly cut and rather than offer the subtle and sublime saltiness high quality proscuitto gives, this instead tasted stale. The ciabatta bread was serviceable but for a lesser price, I could find a better sandwich nearby.
“Club’wich” – Not that bad of a sandwich but not that great either. Fairly common take on a club and small portion for a full sandwich price.
Meatball Sandwich – The best sandwich of the bunch. Meatballs were fairly small but the sauce had enough flavor to warrant an enjoyable meal. Underwhelming though when compared against other bigger names spots such as Moochies or Caputos. For some reason I imagine that the meatballs are made in a crock pot. Set it and forget it.
Ultimately ‘Wich works fails to win any prizes for their offerings. It falls into the category of forgettable. Hopefully, for the sake of it’s owners, the life span of this establishment is much longer than the previous one that occupied the same space months ago.
Friend Meter: Stick with Harmons, Kneaders, or Gandolphos nearby.
