Pho
My first official food blog over a half a year ago was about the Indochine Bistro by the University of Utah. It wasn’t the most exceptional food but it was a good start and representation of my palate. Asian food is at the center of my world being of Southeast descent (Specifically, Cambodian, Chinese, and remotely Thai/Vietnamese). My main favorite foods or what I would call my “last supper” would be mainly Asian food. Included in this list of favorites foods is Pho. Pho is a national icon of Vietnamese cuisine. At it’s base it consists of a beef broth with rice noodles and various assortments of meat which include beef meatballs, tripe, tendon, flank steak, fatty flank, and brisket. It is garnished with various herbs and vegetables such as Thai basil, cilantro, thai chili peppers and bean sprouts. For any Asian who has had this delectable and tasty dish, it is like our own version of comfort food. Utah has it’s own share of Pho Noodle Houses. You can find a variety of spots from Layton to Provo but the heart of quality Pho is in West Valley and Salt Lake.

I’ve asked two of my closest friends and most trusted Pho-a-holics to give me their rankings. I’ve included rankings by Sothea Tann and also exclusive ratings by a friend only to be known as the Pho King

Background on Sothea: Average fan of Pho. Has his favorites and bias’ but can appreciate a good bowl of Pho any day.

Is the Green Papaya still open? Either way I lost interest in them, when they stopped serving Papaya Salad.
They are still open. They are pretty popular with the white crowd still.
